Joel Embiid to Receive MRI for a Left Shoulder Injury

Joel Embiid will receive an MRI to determine the extent of his left shoulder injury, which incurred during the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Cavaliers. This doesn’t bode well for the 76ers team, as Ben Simmons suffered a nerve impingement on Feb 22nd against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Sixers have 23 regular-season games before the beginning of the playoffs, and without Simmons and Embiid, the Sixers may struggle down the stretch.

Porter's contact tracing reportedly began on Thursday. Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. is expected to miss multiple games due to contract tracing under the NBA's health and safety protocols, according to The Athletic 's Shams Charania .  Charania reports Porter will miss Friday night's game against the Suns. He has taken on a larger role for Denver this season after the team lost Jerami Grant and Torrey Craig in free agency this winter. NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Saturday in a virtual press conference ahead of the 2021 All-Star Game that he expects a stronger sense of normalcy next season.  "But the plan remains to try to resume our season as close to so-called normal as possible next year," Silver said.
