Porter's contact tracing reportedly began on Thursday. Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. is expected to miss multiple games due to contract tracing under the NBA's health and safety protocols, according to The Athletic 's Shams Charania .  Charania reports Porter will miss Friday night's game against the Suns. Denver's upcoming schedule includes a road game against the Timberwolves on Sunday before hosting Minnesota on Tuesday. According to  The Denver Post , Porter's contact tracing began on Thursday. Porter, 22, is the Nuggets' second-leading scorer through their first four games this season, averaging 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He has taken on a larger role for Denver this season after the team lost Jerami Grant and Torrey Craig in free agency this winter. Adam Silver said Saturday that he expects next season to be as "so-called normal as possible." View the original article to see embedded media. NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Saturday in a virtual press conference ahead of the 2021 All-Star Game that he expects a stronger sense of normalcy next season.  "But the plan remains to try to resume our season as close to so-called normal as possible next year," Silver said. "It was one of the reasons why, in setting the schedule this year, we decided to stop in mid-July. We both wanted to allow those players who wanted to participate in the Olympics to do so, but in addition we realized if we were going to get back on cycle, and the players were going to get the appropriate downtime before the season began, we didn’t want to go deep into the summer or fall, as we did last season."
